About Me
I have a great big dream of one day having a fiber arts farm, including a studio for learning and pleasure. This is my beginnings. A dream studio waiting to become a reality.
I have enjoyed knitting and crocheting since I was 9 years old. I was inspired to learn when my paternal grandmother sent me a hand knitted afghan. I became determined to learn the craft despite not having a teacher and so taught myself out of the K volume of the encyclopedia. For many years, I worked mostly in crochet as I had mastered that. I have always loved learning new skills and in the past 15 years determined that I would become a better knitter. To that end, I determined that my knitting projects would be focused on challenging myself with new techniques.
I am never not knitting and carry a “go bag” of knitting with me so that I will have something to work on wherever I am. I have further explored the world of fiber arts in the last 7 years and have added spinning and weaving to my skill set. I am very passionate about my love for the fiber arts and find tremendous joy in it.
In addition to my love for fiber arts, I have been teaching in the field of special education for 19 years. It is my love for teaching that bridges these two worlds as I love to help others gain the skills they desire to create beautiful things and instill the confidence to keep learning.
